Synopsis

In the latest Singapore Green Building Masterplan (SGBMP), the government has set an ambitious target of greening 80% of Singapore’s buildings by 2030, reflecting Singapore’s strong commitment to pushing the sustainability agenda in our built environment industry.

To achieve these targets, optimising the building facade or envelope plays a key role – especially as it accounts for almost 50% of the thermal loads in buildings in tropical regions according to the Solar Energy Research Institute of Singapore (SERIS).

This presentation will explore the critical role of high-performance facade systems in enhancing building energy efficiency and reducing the carbon footprint of buildings, and we will be zooming into:

  • Building envelope heat gain in the tropics and how this contributes to building energy inefficiency
  • Evaluating thermal performance of a fenestration system
  • Exploring proven façade technologies used in designing high-performance fenestration systems
  • Discussing best practices for the design and construction of durable high-performance façades

AGC’s Lumiflon FEVE Resin: A Revolutionary Coating System for Eco-Friendly Buildings

1. AGC LUMIFLON FEVE (Fluoroethylene Vinyl: Ether) resin stands as a groundbreaking innovation in architectural coatings, boasting a multitude of sustainable features. Not only does it enhance visual appeal, but it also significantly contributes to environmental preservation and long-term cost savings.

2. This talk emphasizes LUMIFLON’S transformative impact, highlighting its role in carbon emission reduction for new buildings, along with enhanced durability, superior weather resistance, and reduced maintenance requirements, contributing to the creation of eco-friendly and sustainable buildings.

Sustainable buildings with glass solutions

1.As we face the pressing issue of climate change and strive towards creating a Net Zero built environment, every detail in construction matters. Whether it is a small-scale or iconic building, the materials used not only add to the aesthetic appeal but also impact the entire building ecosystem and the well-being of its occupants.

2. Glass serves not only as a building facade but also impacts the occupants’ well-being by providing natural light, thermal comfort and reducing volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Achieving a balance between aesthetics and sustainability is crucial for any building. AGC Glass Solutions offer a range of coated glass options that can provide optimal performance and improve the interior of any building. Participants can also learn how to support developers or building owners in their sustainability mission with glass.
