Synopsis

The Business Case for Sustainability: Metrics of Green Performance

How do low-carbon buildings save or even make money? What is the value of going green? How can we ensure good returns on equity for sustainability projects? How do we measure the dollar value of sustainability-enhanced projects?

The keynote talk addresses the technologies and building solutions that may be applied to two sustainable urban renewal projects – Keppel Bay Tower, an emblem for retrofitting through green performance, and Keppel South Central, an example of green redevelopment. Through the lenses of local and global sustainability measurement tools, we will look at how these projects attain net zero and super low energy status, while meeting decarbonisation goals.

Finally, we will evaluate the business case for sustainability, by assessing the performance of these assets through metrics such as green premiums and Net Operating Income.

Environmental, Social & Governance, the Positive Impact of Architects

The construction industry is increasingly recognising the need to ensure what impact it is making with Environmental Sustainability, Social Equity and Wellness. This extends to architecture and design of building and infrastructure – including effects of climate change/ready/impact, energy efficient material/upgrades, carbon footprint/green buildings, green certifications to mobility features/reliable measures. Anil will consider and discuss the role of Architects in the realms of ESG both from the Contract Administer and legal points of views.

Designing Sustainable Building Façade for the Future

In recent years, great focus has been given to environmental issues, including the challenges of climate change and dwindling resources. This same drive and growth have also been felt in sustainable design in architecture, as the world seeks to address these environmental challenges. Innovative and environmentally friendly approaches to designing building facades involve incorporating various sustainable elements and technologies to enhance energy efficiency, reduce environmental impact, and create more comfortable and healthy indoor environments. Since the building façade provides the outermost layer of a structure, it plays a crucial role in achieving these sustainability goals. This presentation aims to explore innovative trends and approaches to designing sustainable building facades that are not only visually appealing but also contribute to a more sustainable and resilient built environment. These designs aim to reduce energy consumption, greenhouse gas emissions, and environmental footprint while promoting occupant well-being.

Achieving Sustainability Answers with Digital Solutions
Digital Transformation in the Built Environment is inevitable. In recent years, it has also played a very significant part in the advancement of designing sustainably, understanding the environment and energy management for the Built Environment. What are some of the digital solutions adopted in the industry to assist us to achieve these sustainability visions for the Built Environment?
This presentation aims to share the possibilities of digital solutions changing the way we design and managing the building in the future. Is Artificial Intelligent (AI) even a possible solution for designing sustainably?
