In land-scarce Singapore, residential projects are increasingly built closer to land traffic noise sources/hotspots. Architects/QPs play an important role in reducing the impact on noise sensitive spaces through design of developments.

Mr Chan Ho Zong is a Senior Engineer with the Development Control and Licensing Division, NEA. He is involved in assessing Noise Assessment (NA), Temporary Occupation Permit (TOP), and Certificate of Statutory Completion (CSC) applications to ensure that environmental health and pollution control requirements stipulated in the relevant Regulations, Codes of Practices and Technical Guidelines are met.

Ms Soh Liyi is an Executive Engineer with the Development Control and Licensing Division, NEA. She is involved in assessing Building Plan (BP), Pollution Control Equipment (PCE), industrial Temporary Occupation Permit (TOP) and industrial Certificate of Statutory Completion (CSC) applications to ensure compliance with environmental health and pollution control requirements stipulated in the relevant Regulations and Codes of Practices.
