Synopsis
This talk will explore and navigate hot-button sustainable technologies to assess its potential as the key drivers to support Green Mark 2021:
• Solar Architecture
High Performance Coloured Photovoltaic Panels for Building Integrated Solar Façade.
#BIPV #BAPV #Kromatix
• Lighting Architecture
Award-winning hyper energy-saving light-emitting glass for façades, canopies, glass balustrades, and many other exterior and interior deployments.
#LES #World’s first printed lighting on the glass
Participating architects will be taken on a journey through a sustainable world reality where architecturally inspired photovoltaics are imminently accepted as the new normal for mainstream architecture, where lighting architecture will not be the cause but the sustainable solution to combat Singapore’s massive light pollution. A “Result Show” will be included as a real-world case study for a recently installed BAPV project at PSA Tuas.
Speaker
Philip Kwang
Managing Director/façade Consultant from Façade Global Master Pte Ltd.
Director of SG Glass Innovation Master Pte Ltd.
Driven by his deep interest in novel technology and supported by his technological background in the glass industry, Mr Kwang went on to invent the internationally patented LES technology in 2013. LES was recognized as the world first printed lighting on glass at the A*Star T-Up Award in 2014.
Mr Kwang is known to be an active advocate for BIPV facades, which was promoted through his regular engagement with the community and various government agencies. Mr Kwang is instrumental in delivering the first SCDF approved BAPV façade at PSA’s Tuas MB building – a GBIC funded national demonstrator super low energy building with BAPV facades.
He is a long-service adjunct lecturer teaching Solar Architecture and Advanced Architectural Integration at the Dept of Architecture, National University of Singapore. In 2019, he was also appointed to be an adjunct lecturer for Solar Architecture at BCA Academy, which provided him with the valuable opportunity to share his most passionate topic with professionals in the industry.
