Synopsis

Singapore Institute of Architects (SIA) is authorized by the Board Of Architects (BOA)
to develop and manage the Architectural Practice Course (APC). Attending APC is
mandatory for candidates enrolling in BOA’s Professional Practice Examination (PPE).
The course is specifically designed with a combination of both theoretical principles
and a best-practice curriculum.
Overview
The Architectural Practice Course (APC) aims to prepare and equip candidates for the Professional Practice Examination (PPE).
- It is a mandatory training program for candidates enrolling for the Board Of Architects (BOA) PPE.
- The curriculum is specifically planned and designed to integrate principles that cover the BOA syllabus with practical application methods from experienced instructors, in a variety of teaching formats
Who Should Attend
While primarily tailored for PPE candidates, the Architectural Practice Course (APC) also serves as a valuable resource for architects seeking to update and refine their professional knowledge, staying informed about the latest developments in the field.
Architects have the option to register for individual session(s) by clicking on your selected session title.
APC 2025 comprises of:
- Twenty evening sessions, four afternoon tutorial classes and is conducted weekly with a total duration of 70 hours.
- Introduction & briefing session will be in-person physical evening session @ Lifelong learning Institute (LLI).
- Attending APC is mandatory, and potential Professional Practice Examination (PPE) candidates must achieve a minimum attendance rate of 75% to qualify for the PPE.
- Session will be conducted through online webinar tools & tutorials will be in-person physical classes. Review the sessions and tutorials schedule HERE.
- Participants who enter the webinar session after 8 pm or leave before 8:30 pm will be considered absent.

Architectural Practice Course (APC) 2025
- Responsibilities of Candidates: Candidates enrolling in the APC course are required to conduct their due diligence to ensure they meet the eligibility criteria specified on the Board of Architects (BOA) website.
- Course Commitment and Attendance: Before registering for APC 2025, please review the session and tutorial schedule. Attending APC is mandatory, and potential Professional Practice Examination (PPE) candidates must achieve a minimum attendance rate of 75% to qualify for the PPE.
- Absenteeism Policy: Absences must be justified with valid reasons/supporting documents (e.g., medical certificate, hospitalization leave, National Service reservist duty, business travel, etc.).
- Replacement classes will not be provided for missed sessions or tutorials. Course fees will not be refunded for missed/absent sessions.
- Course Duration Options: Candidates are encouraged to complete the course within one year; a two-year completion option is available under the following conditions: a. Submit a written request to TAA before the start of the course via email to [email protected] b. Opt to complete sessions 0-10 in the first year and sessions 11-19 in the second year or vice versa.
- All matters-in-communication with the TAA must be accompanied by written email communication, such as reporting absenteeism or requesting to extend their course duration to 2 years. Candidates should email TAA at [email protected]
- No unauthorised recordings or sharing of any of the session materials, including lecture recordings.
- TAA reserves the right to make changes to the sessions & tutorials schedule.
