Synopsis
A practical approach for architects, developers & contractors to meet new obligations and avoid the pitfalls under the DfS Regulations.
The Workplace Safety and Health (Design for Safety) Regulations 2015 were gazetted on 10th July 2015 and come into operation on 1 August 2016. The Regulations impose duties on “designers”, defined as “the person who prepares a design plan relating to a structure [which includes buildings]” – i.e. including architects. The principal duty of a designer is to, “as far as it is reasonably practicable, prepare a design plan for the structure that eliminates all foreseeable design risks.” This a serious and daunting obligation. Similarly, the regulations impose duties on “developers” and “contractors”.
This course session examines the design-for-safety scheme under the Regulations, and focuses on how designers, developers and contractors can go about meeting their design obligations and avoid pitfalls.
*Certificate of Attendance (COA) will be issued to participants with 100% attendance at the end of the session. COA not be mailed out if is not collected at the end of the session.
