Synopsis
The webinar will feature the evolution of the Façades, in terms of design and selection of materials too. There will be a focus on the Rain Screen systems and the local Standards.
Speakers
Luca Maccarinelli, Spark Architects
Luca Maccarinelli is an Associate at Spark Architects; in the last decade he worked in Hong Kong, Berlin and Singapore, where he spent the last 7 years.
During his career he worked on a wide variety of projects including residential, mixed use, hospitality, office and retail developments. Since his educational path in Milan, Luca developed a passion for design, technology and eco sustainability, which he further enhanced in his professional career. At Rocker-Lange Architect he mastered his parametric design skills collaborating with Harvard and Dassault Systems on a series of research projects published on the book “AD Mass-Customised Cities” and exhibited at the HK/SZ Biennale 2013. At Spark Architects Luca collaborated on a large number of eco sustainability and innovative design focused projects, honoured by prestigious recognitions as WAF, WAN, INDE and ICONIC Awards.
Mathieu Meur
DP Façade, Director
Mathieu Meur provides strategic and technical leadership as the director of DP Façade. Through his training as a multi-disciplinary engineer, and subsequent years of experience heading the largest façade consultancy practice in the world, Mathieu has developed extensive knowledge of all types of building envelope systems, their design, engineering, and related codes of practice. Mathieu has worked on numerous major construction projects on five continents, including Resorts World at Sentosa, Changi Airport Terminal 1 Upgrading, and The Dubai Mall.
Passionate about sharing his knowledge and skills with others, he is a frequent speaker at conferences, writes for technical publications, and has been a Lecturer at the Building and Construction Authority for many years. To round things off, Mr. Meur has also been an active member of the several Singapore Standards Working Group since 2005, writing and updating local standards related to the building envelope.
