Synopsis

The International Chapter of the Australian Institute of Architects is pleased to invite you to our multi location Boarding Pass event. Join us face to face in Singapore or Hong Kong, for an engaging evening of presentations, connect with colleagues and share experiences working in architecture internationally, or join online from anywhere in the world.

Speakers include Sunnie Lau (Hong Kong), Chee Huang (Singapore) and Carol Leung and Dong Uong (Australia) all presenting pavilions from their architectural careers and respective countries.

Speakers

Sunnie S.Y. Lau
Ar. Prof. Sunnie S.Y. LAU is an Adjunct Associate Professor at The Chinese University of Hong Kong and the University of Hong Kong, and a registered architect (HKIA/ARB HK, RIBA) specializing in urban regeneration strategies for high density environments. Her academic work focuses on participatory design methodologies for smart sustainable cities, notably through the Kowloon East Inclusive Innovation & Growth initiative (2013–2022), which integrates community engagement with post-industrial site revitalization. This research has been disseminated internationally via publications, public lectures and exhibition. She took up the curatorship for 19th Venice Biennale 19th Venice Biennale International Architecture Exhibition for Hong Kong (2025); co-curatorship of the Hong Kong Shenzhen Bi-City Biennale (2017, 2019) and exhibited her research work at numerous international and local exhibitions.

Ar. Seah Chee Huang
Chee Huang believes in purposeful architecture that fosters synergy to bring positive impact to everyday life. As CEO of DP Architects, he leads the global practice's strategic growth and design innovation for better-than-sustainable outcomes. His key projects include Singapore Sports Hub, Our Tampines Hub, Bukit Canberra and Golden Mile Complex's rejuvenation. He also champions social impact through Heartware Network’s co-lab workplace and Goodlife Makan, an award-winning senior activity centre. As a president of the Singapore Institute of Architects (2018-2020), Chee Huang spearheaded the Industry Transformation Map for the profession. A long-term adjunct tutor in NUS, he also actively contributes to the built environment discourse through publications, forums, and advisory roles across institutions and government agencies.

Dong Uong
Dong is a Senior Associate in the Melbourne studio, who brings a strong user experience and communication design background to Buchan. He thrives in creative environments where the design thinking starts with the vision and concept for each solution. A seasoned design strategist he believes that diversity in teams is powerful and is the only way to create integrated design solutions. Dong’s style is always to approach ideas laterally and contribute with mixed thinking to create a balance between imagination and pragmatism, innovation and tradition. He has an attitude to tackle anything in front of him. Dong is currently Creative Lead on the Australian Pavilion at Expo 2025 in Osaka, for the Australian Government’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT).

Carol Leung
Both an interior designer and an architect, Carol brings over 10 years of BIM-based design experience, working on projects ranging from hospitality, commercial, education, private residences and multi-residential projects across Australia and South East Asia. Carol is passionate about creating long lasting spatial experiences. Driven by observing how people experience space, Carol’s passion lies in blurring the lines between architecture and interior design. She is adept at using BIM to deliver high quality design through close collaboration with craftspeople, contractors, and subcontractors.

  • For SIA Members whose registrations have been confirmed, attendance is compulsory. Cancellation for complimentary registration is only allowed 3 working days before the actual event.
  • Any absentee will be charged at $22.00.
  • Ticket is non-transferable under all circumstances.
  • Group registration will be subjected to group admin fee of $1 per ticket per transaction. Replacement/Cancellation of participant will not be allowed under group registration.
