Synopsis
The webinar explores two crucial aspects of urban planning: enhancing quality of life through recreation planning and the revised site coverage computation for landed houses.
In the first segment, the speaker will delve into the role of recreation planning within Singapore’s Draft Master Plan 2025. Discover how effective planning enhances physical, mental, and social well-being while fostering community connections. Learn about proposals from the Recreation Master Plan that aim to create inclusive and diverse recreational spaces for current and future generations. Besides URA, there will also be sharing of recently completed recreational projects by architecture firms.
The second segment the speaker will share the updated regulations for site coverage and computation for landed houses.

Speakers
Ar. Dennis Tan - Senior Architect, Physical Planning Group, URA
Ar. Dennis Tan is a Senior Architect with the Physical Planning Group in the Urban Redevelopment Authority. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture and holds a Master of Architecture from the National University of Singapore. He has worked in both private architectural practice and public sector, with experience in diverse scales of development, master planning and urban design. Some of the projects he was involved in includes the Rail Corridor, various Environmental Improvement Projects and the Recreation Master Plan. Mr Tan is also a Registered Architect with the Board of Architects (BOA) Singapore.
Ar. Wo Mei Lan - Co-Founder of Liu & Wo Architects Pte Ltd
Mei Lan received her Bachelor of Architecture degree with Honours from University of Singapore in 1980.
In 1984, she co-founded Liu & Wo Architects Pte Ltd. This established medium sized firm does quality work both locally and overseas and has won several awards. With four decades of outstanding performance she is the much respected driving force behind the successful growth of the company. She is a hands-on architect, personally overlooking all projects performed by the company and leading them all to a satisfactory completion.
Her professional career did not limit itself to office related activities only. Mei Lan has always been actively involved in serving the wide architectural, heritage and construction community.
She has been a board member with the Board of Architects since 2010 and a member of the Preservation of Sites and Monuments Advisory Panel, National Heritage Board since 2016.
Her past involvement as member of the Conservation Advisory Panel in URA from 2006 to 2012, as council member of the Singapore Institute of Architects from 2011 to 2017 and board member of the Professional Engineers Board from 2016 to 2018 has allowed her to contribute to the society at large.

Ashley Yong is a registered architect with a specialization in public projects, dedicated to creating spaces that enhance community engagement and connectivity. Her work emphasizes both aesthetic integrity and practical function, aiming to meet the needs of diverse public users. With a foundation in technical precision and a commitment to visionary design, Ashley continues to shape meaningful environments in the public sector that prioritize accessibility, sustainability, and lasting impact.
Ms Tay Yi Ling - Executive Planner, Development Control Group, URA
Tay Yi Ling is an Executive Planner at Development Control Group, Urban Redevelopment Authority. She is currently with the Policy Department and is part of the team that reviews residential and landed house policies.
