Synopsis
The Singapore Institute of Architects (SIA) is proud to support EPIC Homes in launching the SIA-EPIC Homes Build 2024. We are calling on 60 passionate and committed volunteers to help us build two much-needed homes for underprivileged indigenous families in the rural areas of Malaysia. This is more than just construction; it’s about building hope and making a lasting impact on the lives of those who need it most.
Why Participate?
This is your chance to be part of a meaningful project that combines hands-on construction experience with personal growth and community service. Volunteers from previous builds have described the experience as transformative, not only enhancing their building skills but also deepening their understanding of teamwork, leadership, and empathy. Participants who are from the construction industry including developers, builders, consultants and suppliers, will work together towards a common goal.
Event Details
- Date: 28 November 2024 (Thursday) to 1 December 2024 (Sunday)
- Location: Hulu Selangor, West Malaysia
- Transportation: Bus from and back to Singapore
- Accommodation: To Be Confirmed
- Fees (includes food, transportation, accommodation (twin sharing basis), basic builders training, PPE and insurance) :
- S$450 for SIA Members
- S$500 for Non-SIA Members
Important Note
Volunteers who wish to sign up should be aware that the Build activities are strenuous and involve an average of 8 hours of physical labor each day. Please consider this before committing to ensure you are prepared for the challenge. Construction training and safety briefings will be provided before the build.
