Synopsis

At Saint-Gobain, we believe that feeling good in a building is about having the perfect amount of light, the proper level of sound and the ideal temperature. It is about design and technology, beauty and safety, efficiency and sustainability.

A good living place is adaptable to us, rather than the other way around. Taking a holistic approach to comfort, health and wellbeing in buildings is the way forward. How a building feels is a matter of how it performs.

There are no more doubts that buildings have a huge impact on our environment (39% of global carbon emissions are attributed to buildings) and constantly growing body of evidence demonstrates strong link between better buildings and increased wellbeing of occupants (we spend up to 90%of our life indoors). The Multi Comfort program provides a systematic approach to reach optimum Indoor Environment Quality at minimum environmental cost.

The presentation provides:

  • Handy definition of sensorial comforts (feel, see, hear, breath) as well as their key drivers,
  • Review of key sustainability drivers (energy & resource efficiency, health & safety, etc.)
  • Overview of few Multi Comfort buildings case studies (residential & non-residential)
  • Q&A session

Weber Emix – We have all heard of 3D printing. But how would you feel cycling over a 3D-printed bridge? The formidable challenge of designing and making the world’s first 3D printed bridge in the world fell to Weber in the Netherlands. And their creation is now used by hundreds of cyclists every day.

Gyproc – Do you still think that block and bricks have better acoustic performance over drywall with gypsum panels? This sharing will let you understand the basic science theory of acoustic and make drywall partition a much effective solution as wall. And several case studies in Singapore will show case the application of the acoustic theory.

Exprover – Environment as outside view, daylight, temperature, noise, affects human well-being. How to choose the right glass type for your building to bring the best comfort, aesthetic and energy savings?
